HMO application Snakes Lane West

Councillor Joel Herga has shared that the HMO application in Snakes Lane has been rejected.

"I have been advised by the Redbridge Planning Department that the application for an up to 21 person HMO on Snakes Lane West has been rejected. I know many residents were concerned about this application and I wrote to the Chair of the Planning Committee asking for this application to be reviewed as I too had concerns. I will be continuing to monitor the situation to see if another application is submitted. If you have concerns about this or other matters in Monkhams ward, please do get in contact with me as the ward Councillor at [Joel.Herga@redbridge.gov.uk](mailto:Joel.Herga@redbridge.gov.uk)"

Broadmead Road Bridge

The Council held a public meeting on 30 June at Hawkey Hall at which they updated local residents on the current position with the rebuilding of the bridge, details can be found at the LBR sire by following this link where you can download their presentation.

StreetSafe – Where in Redbridge do you feel unsafe?

As part of the government’s agenda to tackle violence against women and girls, the police are using a new online tool called StreetSafe to enable people, particularly women and girls, to report locations where they feel or have felt unsafe.

The focus of this is to identify particular areas and factors that lead to people feeling unsafe and might help offenders either commit or conceal a crime – such as street lighting, abandoned buildings or poorly designed spaces, vandalism, as well as behaviours of individuals or groups of people.

StreetSafe is anonymous to use and can take only a minute to fill in.

We want our police partners to target patrols in problem areas where you feel unsafe – please use StreetSafe as often as you can to highlight issues, and hopefully you will see a more visible policing presence at the times you want. Click here to use the tool.
