Hanging Baskets

The Group has proudly arranged hanging baskets in Woodford Green since 1992.

In 2024, we secured partial council funding through Spacehive. However, due to limited resources, we were unable to fund baskets along the High Road shopping area. Instead, baskets were successfully installed in The Broadway and Pankhurst Green. We also introduced additional planters at the zebra crossing and outside the Library, in collaboration with Wells Primary School, who helped with the planting.

Looking ahead to 2025, the rising cost of maintaining hanging baskets in The Broadway has led us to shift our focus toward planters. With the generous support of Woodford Fire Station and Redbridge Our Streets, we’ve been able to adopt more planters. This includes:

  • Four new planters at the Fire Station

  • Two planters at the Library entrance

  • Four existing planters outside the Library

  • Two planters at the zebra crossing on Charteris Road

All plants are provided by our Group. Watering is a team effort: the firefighters care for the planters at the station, while volunteers, with the support of the Library, water the planters at the Library and Charteris Road using the Library’s outdoor tap.

Thank you for supporting us in enhancing Woodford Green
